Visual inspection
When you book a gas boiler service with Mumford Heating Services, a fully qualified Gas Safe engineer will visit your property on-time and well presented.
Should you wish to see it, our engineers are happy to provide you with their Gas Safe identification card before entering your home.
Our engineers always take steps to ensure that your home is left clean and tidy, so we will always use dust sheets and clean the work area following your boiler service.
Depending on the type of boiler you have, a typical boiler service usually takes between 30-45 minutes to complete and includes the following checks:
Flue Check

We always check that your boiler meets current standards and regulations.

We carry out a visual inspection of both the inside and outside of the boiler, looking for any damage, corrosion and leaks.

We also check the flame picture to ensure your pilot light is blue; indicating that the gas is burning efficiently and without debris.
Removal of Boiler Casing

We check and clean all components to ensure they're working correctly.

We complete checks of the heat exchanger, burner and injectors.

We test all probes and sensors, cleaning and replacing if required.

Our engineer looks for obstructions in the flue and ensures correct flue fitting.

We complete a combustion analysis and issue a report which will be recorded in your log book for future reference.
Gas Pressure Check

Our engineer will check the gas pressure to your boiler, check the gas entering the burner and ensure the boiler is working at the correct pressure.
Boiler Test

Your boiler will be run at full power to ensure all components are working correctly and efficiently, at which point you will receive your certificate of safety.
